Philosophy
Whether teaching theory, trumpet or conducting, I always meet the student where they are at. As a conductor, I believe that all aspects of music work together to create a magical art form. Our understanding of the building blocks of music influence how one might perform or conduct a piece and as musicians, we need to be able to understand what those building blocks are. As I believe they are inseparable, I teach music theory, history and aural skills all at once so that the student is able to understand the music from all angles. I teach all ages and levels, ranging from basic understanding of choral harmonies, and rhythms to species counterpoint and atonal analysis, and have tutored students studying for theory tests and exams.
Pricing
I offer lesson pricing at a sliding scale, and am committed to providing students from all financial background the opportunity to learn. Don’t hesitate to reach out to discuss my usual rates!
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel, do so 24 hours prior to the lesson, except in emergencies. If I am not notified prior to the lesson, and the student doesn't show, that lesson is not refundable.
